Mtn Grove VFW Attends Skyline School Veterans Day Activities

      Six members of the Mtn Grove VFW Family headed south to Skyline School following the Veterans Day Program at Norwood Schools.  Skyline School is a K thru 8th grade school located at the junction of Highway 76 and Highway C.  The Skyline Program began  with  ………………….

students leading the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance which was followed by  ……………………………………….

various students reading the names of the Civil War soldiers that are buried in the Denlow Cemetery and then they read the names of their relatives that are veterans.  That was followed by the VFW part of the program  …………………………………..

and that was Post 3770 Commander Ruth Vaughn presenting the awards to the students who achieved winner status in the 2014 Patriots Pen Essay writing competition when Quartermaster Kelley called the students forward.  It had been kept a secret from the winners and they were greatly surprised.
