Thursday, July 27 was the 64th anniversary of the signing of the Korean War Armistice that is still in effect today. The United States still has troops stationed in South Korea to enforce the truce.
It was raining in Mtn Grove as four (4) members of Post 3770, two (2) members of Auxiliary 3770 and three (3) members of the community gathered on the Mtn Grove Public Square to conduct a “Colors Ceremony” to observe the day and pay respects to all those whom served in the Korean War and to those who have served there to enforce the truce.
No pictures were taken.
The next “Colors Ceremony” will be to observe V-J Day which ended World War II on Sept 2. There will also be a “Colors Ceremony” on Sept 11 to observe Patriot Day and on Sept 15 to observe POW/MIA Awareness Day. All will be on the Mtn Grove Public Square at 9:00 a.m.
